Dean's Shoe Repair - "definitely a work of art in each pair"
TIPS AND ADVICE FOR DYEING SHOES from dyeableshoestore.com

Dyeing Bridal/Prom Shoes Will Not Make Them Water-Resistant
Shoe dyes used for custom dyeing bridal/prom shoes (excluding colorfast manufacturer dyes) are water-soluble and will bleed or stain if exposed to moisture.  When custom dyeing footwear, protect  your shoes with a water repellent spray but be sure the spray will work on your fabric and will not alter the shoe color.  The spray will prevent most staining but will not make your shoes waterproof.  Please be aware that one sprayed, the shoes CANNON BE REDYED.  We recommend keeping the spray on hand in case of inclement weather and avoid spraying your shoes unless absolutely necessary.

Custom Dye Shoes Look Different With Indoor & Outdoor (Natural) Lighting
Please inform us of what the lighting will be for your event.  Ultraviolet light in the natural light spectrum will cause the color of your dyed shoes to look different outdoors than indoors.  The color will also appear different between shaded areas and direct sunlight.  Color variations cannot be avoided.  We recommend dyeing your shoes to match the lighting of your event space.

Custom Dyeing Your Bridal/Prom Shoes to Match Your Dress Is An Art
With custom dyeing, it is not possible to get a perfect color match due to the textural differences between the shoe fabric and the dress fabric.  We assure that they will be dyed to blend as close as possible to the hue and depth of color.

NOTE: Please bring a swatch of material the color that you would like the shoes dyed - even if you are not trying to match the color exactly.  We will look through the color sample book of base colors and choose the one closest to what you like.
